Wild Animal Sanctuary
June 5; 8 am–5 pm. The Wild Animal Sanctuary occupies nearly 800 acres of open space in Keenesburg, Colorado. The sanctuary specializes in rescuing and caring for large predators who had been in abusive situations, and who might otherwise be euthanized. The largest nonprofit carnivore sanctuary
in the world, more than 650 animals
can be viewed from a 1.5-mile-long elevated walkway. Learning the stories of what the animals went through
before they arrived is heartbreaking but seeing how they are roaming free and are cared for in their new homes will definitely bring a smile and tears of joy. Education about the causes and potential solutions of the Captive Wildlife Crisis is critically important to the alleviation of suffering endured by millions of animals worldwide. We have set up a private educational guided tour which allows guests to step into the life stories of these great animals. Participants must be able to walk 1.5 miles during the tour, and 1.5 miles back to the visitor’s center after the tour. Dress for the changing Colorado weather. Binoculars and cameras encouraged. Activity Includes private guided tour, and transportation. Cost $170/person. Special R4R Price $40.
