Main floor locker room renovations will start Dec. 1. If you have any personal belongings in lockers, please remove them ASAP. 

All customers are authorized to use the locker rooms on the upper level of the Fitness Center or the family changing rooms located in the pool area. The estimated completion date for the main-level locker rooms is March 2025.

About the Base Fitness Center

The USAFA Fitness Center is the place to meet all your daily fitness needs with state-of the-art equipment, group classes, intramural sports and a swimming pool. ORIENTATION AND EQUIPMENT USE POLICY

Do you want to work out but don’t know where to start? Our FREE equipment orientation is a great way to get started. Our experienced staff will take you through the cardio, strength and free weight equipment areas. All fitness levels are encouraged to attend.

Orientation includes:

  • A tour of the facility
  • Weight machine safety and settings
  • Cardio machine safety and settings
  • Gym etiquette

The orientation is open to all DoD ID cardholders ages 13+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up at the front desk, call or email us today and a staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment. Call 719-333-4522 or EMAIL US.

 

FITNESS CENTER AGE AND EQUIPMENT USE POLICY

* As per Air Force Regulation DAFI-34-266

16 Years of Age and Over
Unrestricted use of all Fitness Center facilities and equipment. Need not be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
13 – 15 Years of Age
All cardiovascular and weight equipment, group exercise rooms: Require interactive supervision from an adult at all times (parent, legal guardian, qualified fitness or youth program staff member or coach). Other activity areas (basketball court, racquetball courts, running track): Parent or legal guardian must be in the facility.
6 – 12 Years of Age
All cardiovascular and weight equipment group exercise rooms: Access to these areas prohibited. Other activity areas (basketball court, racquetball courts, running track): Requires interactive supervision from an adult at all times.
Under 6 Years of Age
Not allowed in the facility with the exception of those facilities providing a parent/child area (PCA) for supervised play and or those children who are supervised spectators in a sporting or special event.

POOL USAGE POLICY

Children 10 or younger must be under the direct supervision of an adult (18+).
Children 11 – 13 must pass a swim test or be supervised by an adult (18+).
Children 14 – 17 may swim without adult supervision.

SATELLITE FITNESS CENTER

The Satellite Fitness Center is open daily, 24 hours to active duty, DoD (CAC) cardholders working on the west side of the South Gate bridge.

FITNESS TRACK MAPS

WORLD CLASS ATHLETE PROGRAM

The program provides a means for military personnel approved as world class athletes to train for, attend, and participate in Pan American games, Conseil International du Sport Militaire, Olympic games, other qualifying forums, and preparatory competitions. Regular AF, AF Reserve, and Air National Guard (ANG) participating personnel who are established athletes in Olympic-sanctioned sports are eligible to apply for the world class athlete program. Individuals in the non-participating Individual Ready Reserve, standby, or retired reserve are not eligible for consideration.

The Air Force now uses an on-line application system. Applicant must now submit an application through our new APPTRAC System

In order to be considered for the training camp and/or championship candidate must complete an application in the system, with supervisor and commanders approval noted. We suggest applicant notify supervisor and commander that they will need to create a profile on the APPTRAC System as well.
