Reservation/Cancellation Policies

  • Full payment is required at the time of reservation.
  • A 10% cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations up to 10 calendar days prior to reservation pick up date.
  • No refund for cancellations within 10 calendar days of pickup date.
    • Exceptions only for documented military or medical reasons.
  • No refunds for early returns.

Mandatory camper class

Required Travel Trailer training is ONLINE, please call 719-333-4753 to register to receive the access code to complete necessary certifications.

20' and 23' trailers require a towing vehicle with an electronic brake controller per Colorado State Law.

Camper class and vehicle check must be completed AT LEAST one week prior to date of pickup. Register for online training and make an appointment for a vehicle inspection call 719-333-4753

  • Complete online travel trailer training – recommended refresher every three years.
  • Add 5' to length for tongue and spare tire when considering campsite size.
  • Electronic Brake Controller required to tow travel trailers over 3000lbs GVWR (USAFA 20' and 23'.)
  • All camping trailers are equipped with electric brakes.
  • Contact your insurance directly regarding Trailer Towing Coverage.
  • Consult your owner’s manual or manufacturer for your vehicle Towing Capacity.
  • Extended mirrors are recommended.

Camping without electrical hookup, “off grid"

  • Battery - will last approx. 2 days, heat will operate continuously for approx. 6 hrs. & battery will need to be recharged, CO2 detector will chirp when battery is low. AC/micro/outlets will not operate. Battery recharges with vehicle, generator or solar panel.
  • Generator or solar panel is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
    • Rent Generator or Solar Panel at a discount with camper (prices subject to change).
  • A generator will charge battery, and power A/C, micro, and outlets. Solar panel will only charge the battery to operate heat, and detectors

Terminology:

  • GVWR - The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), is maximum operating weight as specified by
    the manufacturer including the vehicle's chassis, body, engine, engine fluids, fuel, accessories, driver, passengers and cargo. Recommend towing 10-20% below capacity.
  • Tongue Weight - Tongue weight is the downforce from the tongue of the trailer to the hitch of
    your towing vehicle. The industry standard for TW is between 9% - 14% of your GVWR.
  • Electronic Brake Controller - An electric trailer brake controller is a device installed in the cab of your tow vehicle that proportionally activates trailer brakes when you hit the brakes in your tow vehicle.
  • Hitch Class – Class III: Up to 8,000lbs GTW, Up to 800lbs TW, 2x2 receiver opening. Class IV: Up to 12,000lbs GTW, Up to 1,200lbs TW, 2x2 receiver opening.
  • AC – Shore power or generator, DC – 12

Towing requirement checklist:

  • Complete online USAFA Travel Trailer training
  • Match towing vehicle system with Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of camper.
  • Match hitch class to tongue weight of camper.
  • Pass light and brake inspection.
  • Pass Electronic Brake Controller inspection - for campers 3000+ GVWR.Class III hitch  - 2” hitch opening.

Requirements to rent:

  • At least one week prior to rental: Travel trailer training, and vehicle inspection.
  • Online travel trailer and towing class. Call 719-333-4753 to receive access code to complete certificates.
  • Vehicle inspection for lights, hitch height and Electronic Brake Controller.
  • Electronic Brake Controller required by Colorado State law for towing over 3,000 lbs – ODR 20’ and 23’ trailers.

Additional Information:

  • Campers must be returned clean. (Fee applies if policy is violated.)
  • Pets only allowed in pet friendly campers. (Fee applies if policy is violated)
  • Add 5’ to length for tongue and spare tire when considering campsite size.
  • All camping trailers are equipped with electronic brakes.
  • Contact your insurance company directly regarding Travel Trailer coverage.
  • Consult your owner manual or dealer to verify towing capacity.
  • Customer responsible for bringing own linens and kitchen supplies.
